He stars in a new NBC series called "Up All Night," and Will Arnett landed himself a promotional feature in the November 2011 issue of REDBOOK.
The 41-year-old Canadian actor chatted with the magazine about a range of topics including his new character, his wife (Amy Poehler), and his kids.
Highlights from Will's interview are as follows. For more, be sure to visit REDBOOK!
On playing a character who isn't smug, scheming, and totally contentious:
"I?ve historically played people who are damaged and dumb. That?s funny, but this time I wanted a part I could relate to, and it also happens to be very close to my own life."
On how good of a dad he is:
"Two nights ago I had to bribe my 3-year-old, Archie, into finishing his dinner with a King Cone. That thing is half his body weight, so he was going on chocolate and sugar until 10 p.m."
On whether he or wife Amy Poehler panics more as a parent:
"Me, but I think I?ve become mellower with two kids. You?re nervous with the first one. You remember all the stupid stuff you?ve done, and you think: Who put me put in charge? You think they?re going to chase you down and take that baby back."
On whether he or Amy tends to get the 'last word':
"She thinks she?s the boss, but I?m the boss. Part of being the boss is allowing others to think they?re the boss, which is what I do."
